From Genesis to Revelation the nation Israel plays a central role in God's plan of salvation for the world. Many today believe that the Christian Church consists mostly of gentiles (i.e. non-racial Israelites), and that they have replaced racial Israelites as a new spiritual Israel (Galatians 6:15-16). Yet many of the same people who believe this, also hold that the Jews in the state of Israel today are still God's Chosen People, and that they will yet play a significant role when the Messiah returns a second time. "A Study in Romans 11" examines the eleventh chapter of Romans to shed light on the true Israel of God today. "The mystery of Israel's partial blindness" (verse 25) is that, initially, only a small "elect" (verse 7) portion of Israel will be obedient to God. At Christ's 2nd Coming, however, "the rest" (verse 7) of Israel will follow. As verse 26 jubilantly declares, "And so ALL Israel will be saved." Romans 11 describes God's dealings and plans for these two portions in Israel.
